Fortnite Chapter 5 introduces a new Island, boss characters, and a Lego makeover

Epic concluded Chapter 4 of Fortnite with The Big Bang event, and now the game is moving to another chapter, Chapter 5 , and the first season is titled “Underground,” slated to begin December 7. With the new season are coming some big changes – a new Island to replace the destroyed one, Lego-themed skins, and there will be boss fights too, with a new batch of licensed characters, including Snake from Metal Gear Solid and Peter Griffin from Family Guy, who’s ripped now.
The new Island has many biomes to explore. In the west, you’ll find the Ritzy Riviera marina in the chaparral biome. Head to the boreal forest in the northwest for the abandoned Rebel’s Roost mansion. The grassland biome at the centre of the Island offers beautiful views seen by train passengers heading to Grand Station on Reckless Railways. In the east, you’ll find the boreal tundra and boreal snow biomes, home to the Hazy Hillside village and Grand Glacier Hotel.
During the first part of the season, snow covers more than just the boreal snow biome. To celebrate Winterfest 2023, the boreal forest and boreal tundra are also covered in snow.
There is a new vehicle – Grandeur Trailsmasher SUV – that will let you explore the Island your way. There is also Ballistic Shield weapon, modifiable weapons, customizable vehicles, and in-game cosmetics. Rocket League players may also see some items carried over.
The new chapter introduces five boss characters on the island, one of them being Peter Griffin. Players can earn a medallion by defeating them, which allows them to regenerate their shields over time. However, it comes with a drawback as well, as holding onto a medallion will make other players aware of your location on the map. The number of medallions you have determines the radius of your exact location.
Epic has announced an upcoming in-game experience called Lego Fortnite, resulting from their ongoing partnership. The game is a “survival crafting” game that will launch inside Fortnite on December 7.
As part of the collaboration, most existing Fortnite skins will include a Lego-style option, rendering characters like Peely the banana in Lego bricks. Epic has confirmed that there are over 1,200 skins available for players to choose from. However, these styles will only be available in Lego experiences within Fortnite.
