Park said that there were certain “heavy limitations that users experienced when using a Galaxy Watch with iOS.” As per Park, the limitation wasn’t driven by the Watch but “by the core product” — which is the iPhone. He also said that the idea is to provide the best experience to our customers and with the iPhone it wasn’t possible.
The senior Samsung executive said that the company felt there was a lot of disconnection between the two systems. “That was one of the reasons we dropped iOS support on Galaxy Watches – we could not deliver the same level of experience with Android and iOS.”
Samsung’s Galaxy smartwatches have been running on Wear OS for the past two years. However, other brands that have Wear OS-powered smartwatches are compatible with iOS.
