Google: Google is removing Chrome Sync from iOS, here’s how it will affect users

Google is making a big change to the iOS version of Chrome. The change we are talking about is the way Chrome syncs users’ data with Google Account. Until now, Chrome had Syncthat allowed users to see bookmarks, history, tabs, etc across multiple devices that have linked to the same Google Account. And, also allowed users to auto sign-in to Google sites.
Google is reportedly getting rid of Chrome Sync from the iOS version of the app. 9to5Google has reported that Google has replaced Chrome Sync and going forward, users will only need to sign in using Google Account in Chrome just like any other Google service. Once done, it will automatically sync bookmarks, reading lsts, passwords, payment info, saved addresses and settings.
Google has mentioned that Sign up for a Google Account for Chrome is completely optional and users can use the browser without linking it with the Google Account.
However, it won’t sync bookmarks, history, tabs, etc across the devices. That said, the browser will still save bookmarks, passwords and other information.
How this will affect users
Removal of Chrome Sync will make things easier for smoother for usres. With Chrome Sync, users had to enable it manually to sync data across devices. With the new sign-in option, users will have to sign in using their Google account and everything will start syncing automatically.
It is important to note that Chrome Sync will remain unaffected on desktop and Android and will continue working as it used to. Also, an iOS update for Chrome will start rolling out in the coming weeks.
