According to senior officers, the two policemen were part of a night patrol that detained two men for roaming around suspiciously in Manvat early on October 22, a Sunday.The two detainees were scheduled to be produced before the holiday court at 11am.

Parbhani SP in-charge Yashwant Kale confirmed the incident. “After it was brought to our notice, a detailed report, along with the constables’ statements, was sent to the judiciary for appropriate action.” Statements from three other constables who witnessed the incident have also been recorded. Manvat police station inspector Deepak Dantulwar confirmed the diary entry, but declined to elaborate.
