NEW DELHI: The Delhi government on Wednesday announced an early winter break in schools amid worsening air pollution in the national capital.

The air quality in Delhi and its surrounding areas plummeted to the severe category once more on Wednesday. Approximately one-third of the air pollution in the national capital can be attributed to the smoke resulting from post-harvest paddy straw burning in the neighboring states.
