MUMBAI: Though the heavy rains on Wednesday late afternoon did not have a major impact on arrivals at the Mumbai airport, it did suspend flight operations for a short while.
As visibility fell flight operations were temporarily suspended at the Mumbai airport between 4.24 pm and 4.32 pm, said a Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) official.
During these eight minutes, two flights on approach to land carried out a missed approach and climbed for a second attempt at landing.
A flight tracking app showed that departures at Mumbai airport in the late afternoon and evening were delayed by an average of 30 minutes, while arrivals were behind schedule by only five minutes.
