India’s 302-run victory was their biggest in the history of the World Cup and second biggest overall. The biggest victory in ODIs in terms of runs also belongs to India when they inflicted a 317-run defeat on the same opponents in Thiruvananthapuram in January this year.
Like since the beginning of the ICC ODI World Cup, several companies including Zomato, Swiggy, Blinkit, Google India and Uber celebrated India’s victory. The X, formerly Twiiter, of Delhi Police too had interesting wishes for the Men in Blue.
Delhi Police calls it ‘killing’ performance’
“#TeamIndia, ‘302’ is literally a ‘killing’ performance. #INDvsSL #CWC2023 #WorldCup2023,” posted Delhi Police.
Google India is ‘wowwwwed’
“Our bowling performance today ➡️ So beautiful, so elegant…just looking like a WOW-W-W-W-W-W-W 🤌 #INDvsSL,” posted Google India. “The speed at which wickets are falling = The speed at which I wish comments on my Doc got resolved 🫢,” it added in another post.
Blinkit ‘settles score’
“7/7 🤩 #INDvSL,” posted Blinkit, “match according to sri lanka #INDvsSL,” went another post from the company that had image of a 2020 biscuit, a pun on the match ending in less than 20 overs.
Zomato: Biryani Blues for Sri Lanka -)
“Team India saw Sri Lanka how we see a plate of biryani, finished it fast #INDvsSL,” read tongue in cheek post from Zomato. “Siraj making us wonder if we are watching world cup or Asia Cup highlights🤔 #INDvsSL,” went another post from the company.
Swiggy: Order 7 delivered -)

Uber India: Diwali jaldi aa gayi
“Bhaiya, soan papdi ke dabbe boot mein bhar lu? Diwali toh jaldi aagayi! IYKYK😉 #INDvsSL #CWC23,” posted Uber India. “Match ke pehle Uber wale bhaiya se fastest route maanga tha kya?😳🫡 #INDvsSL #CWC23,” went another post from the company.
