India and Pakistan could face each other as many as three times in this edition of the Asia Cup. Once in the group stage on Saturday, September 2. Then again in the Super 4 stage (India and Pakistan are favourites to qualify from Group A) and then potentially in the mega final on September 17 in Colombo.
On Thursday, August 31, Pallekele hosted the first Group B match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The match was not affected by rain, though there was an interruption due to a slight drizzle.
