However, in the second set, Korea fought back valiantly, narrowly winning it with a score of 59-58. Undeterred, the Indian trio regained control in the third set, securing a win with a score of 59-57. In the final and decisive set, India delivered a flawless performance, earning all 10 points and sealing their gold medal victory.
In the semifinals of the archery compound men’s team event, the Indian trio had also demonstrated their prowess by defeating Chinese Taipei’s Cheng-Wei Chang, Chieh-Lun Chen, and Cheng-Jui Yang with a score of 235-224.
Earlier in the day, India’s Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Aditi Gopichand, and Parneet Kaur had claimed a gold medal in the women’s compound team event, narrowly defeating Chinese Taipei’s Yi-Hsuan Chen, I-Jou Huang, and Lu-Yun Wang by a score of 230-229.
With this gold medal victory in the archery compound men’s team event, India has now secured a total of 84 medals in the Asian Games, positioning themselves in fourth place on the medal tally. Their medal haul includes 21 gold, 31 silver, and 32 bronze medals, showcasing India’s prowess and determination on the international sporting stage.
