Apple is all set to launch its next-generation iPhone 15 series next month. Rumours suggest that Apple may launch the iPhone 15 series on September 12. The iPhone 15 series will consist of four smartphones — iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Now a new leak has surfaced online revealing another interesting detail about the upcoming iPhones.
iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus to come with special USB Type-C cables
Various online reports suggest that this year Apple may replace the lighting port on iPhones with a USB Type-C port. A new leak shared by Majin Bu suggests that the Cupertino-based tech giant may include special colour-coordinated USB Type C cables with iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
On the other hand, an Apple device prototype collector “Kosutami” has also revealed that they have also seen the colourful USB Type-C cables which are expected to come with the new iPhones.
The colour-coordinated cables are said to come with a plastic shell on both ends and the braided USB Type C cables are said to feature strain relief tubes.
As reported by MacRumors, Apple is expected to introduce the cables in white, black, yellow, purple and orange colour options. Each of these cables is said to match the colour of iPhone 15.
iPhone 15 series: What to expect
Mark Gurman also revealed that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models are said to sport a titanium frame. The upcoming smartphone is poised to feature slimmer bezels, and there’s speculation that the mute switch might be replaced with an Action button. Both of these smartphones are rumoured to be driven by Apple’s proprietary A17 Bionic chipset. Across all variants of the iPhone 15 series, a USB Type C charging port is reportedly in the works.
Conversely, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus iterations are anticipated to be equipped with the A16 Bionic chipset. Additionally, the widely acclaimed Dynamic Island functionality is likely to expand to cover the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models. In conjunction with these upgrades, Apple is projected to enhance the camera system on the iPhone 15 by introducing a 48MP primary sensor.
