Here are some additional things to keep in mind about the Screen Distance feature:
- The feature is only available on
iPhone and iPad models with Face ID. - The feature uses the TrueDepth camera to measure the distance between your eyes and the screen.
- The feature is not enabled by default. You need to turn it on manually in the Settings app.
How to enable and use Screen Distance feature?
Here are the steps you need to follow to enable Screen Distance feature
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap on
Screen Time . - Scroll down and tap on Screen Distance.
- Tap on Turn On Screen Distance.
- Toggle on the Screen Distance switch.
Once you have enabled the Screen Distance feature, you will see a full-screen alert that says “iPhone is Too Close” if you hold your device closer than 12 inches to your eyes for an extended period. You can then tap on the Continue button to dismiss the alert and move your device farther away.
You can disable the Screen Distance feature at any time by going to Settings > Screen Time > Screen Distance and turning off the Screen Distance toggle.
