‘Jis team ko Pakistan support karti hai…’: Virender Sehwag’s cheeky swipe after Sri Lanka defeat spoils neighbours’ semis chances | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Former India opener Virender Sehwag on Friday, in his own unique and sarcastic way, trolled Babar Azam and co. with his ‘Pakistan Zindabhaag!’ jibe after the neighbours chances of reaching the semis at the ongoing World Cup were reduced to mere mathematical probabilities.
For Pakistan to make a push to the semis, they needed Sri Lanka to win their final group-game against New Zealand but the Islanders were a no show on Thursday as Kiwis hammered them by five wickets.
The heavy Sri Lanka thrashing virtually knocked Pakistan out of the contention of semis race as they now need to beat England by astounding margins in their final group game.
With the neighbours all but out of the last-four race, Sehwag wished them well on their return journey.
The 45-year-old also took a dig at Pakistan, saying whichever team Pakistan supports, starts playing like them.

Knowing that the World Cup is now practically over for Pakistan, bowling legend and former captain Wasim Akram also shared his hilarious take with former teammates and co-guests on the news channel ‘A Sports’.
“Wasim bhai gave the idea that Pakistan should bat first, then lock England up in their dressing room and get them timed out in 20 minutes to win the match,” the host of the show said, leaving the other guests in splits.
India, South Africa and Australia have already qualified for the semis of the World Cup with New Zealand almost certain to become the fourth team.
The Kiwis however will have to wait for the England-Pakistan game on Saturday to have the official confirmation of their qualification.
