A day after former PM and JD(S) supremo HD Deve Gowda claimed that all its allies in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra had consented to his tie-up with BJP in Karnataka for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, Kerala ally CPM termed it ‘ridiculous’. While Gowda claimed that Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan had given his nod, the latter termed the statement ‘contradictory and absurd’. “Gowda is lying to cook up a logic for his political somersault,” Vijayan said.
However, on Friday, the former PM did a U-turn, saying: “There is some confusion about my statement. My communist friends do not seem to have followed what I said, or the context.”
