BHOPAL: The BJP government in Madhya Pradesh inherited 7,000 kms of potholed roads but is now building Metro rail networks in Bhopal and Indore, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Saturday, aiming to show how his administration has transformed the state.
Now, Chouhan is burning up the miles on the road and in the air as he races the clock to cover all 230 constituencies in the state.
With four days to go for the end of campaigning, CM Chouhan has covered 122 constituencies over the past month. A close aide said that Chouhan aims to cover 180 seats before campaigning draws to a close on the evening of November 15. Voting in MP is on November 17.
Chouhan is campaigning on Diwali, as well. His schedule shows he will address four election meetings in Malthon (Khurai), Berasia (Bhopal), Kukshi (Dhar) and Udhamkhedi (Sarangpur), said the aide, adding that he addressed 11 election meetings on Dhanteras after which he spent the evening shopping in Bhopal’s Chowk Market with ‘Ladli Behnas’. There are days when he has campaigned at 8-10 places.
