MLB: Texas Rangers secure their first ever World Series title with a 5-0 victory over Arizona Diamondbacks

NEW DELHI: The Texas Rangers have clinched their first World Series championship in franchise history, ending a 62-year journey to claim the title. The Rangers secured the championship with a 5-0 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 5. It was the Rangers’ third trip to the Fall Classic, and they made it count, taking all three games at Chase Field to conclude the postseason with a perfect 11-0 road record.
The game saw an impressive pitching duel between the Diamondbacks’ ace, Zac Gallen, and the Rangers’ Nathan Eovaldi.Gallen kept the Rangers hitless through six innings, allowing only one baserunner during that span. However, the Diamondbacks’ offense struggled to provide run support, leaving nine runners on base in the first five innings and failing to capitalize on scoring opportunities.

In the seventh inning, the Rangers finally broke the scoreless tie. Mitch Garver delivered a run-scoring single, driving in Corey Seager, who had reached base with a single to left field. That run was enough for the Rangers to take the lead and eventually secure their championship.
In the ninth inning, the Rangers added four more runs, sealing their historic victory. Josh Jung, Nathaniel Lowe, and Jonah Heim hit consecutive singles, and Heim’s hit turned into a two-base error, allowing two more runs to score. Marcus Semien then crushed a two-run home run to left field, sealing the Rangers’ 5-0 win.

Josh Sborz closed out the game, earning the save and striking out Ketel Marte to clinch the championship for the Texas Rangers. This title marks a significant milestone in the history of the franchise, and the Rangers can now proudly call themselves World Series champions.
