NASHIK: About 10 to 12 activists of Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) ransacked the toll Naka on Samruddhi Mahamarg in Sinnar under the Wavi police station in the early hours on Sunday.

The MNS activists allegedly got furious on getting reports that Amit Thackeray, the president of the students wing of the party was unnecessary made to wait at toll plaza.
The Wavi police said that the incident took place at around 2.09am on Sunday. Unidentified workers of the party barged at the toll naka and started breaking the windows of the toll plaza and left the scene within 3 minutes.

The police said that Amit Thackeray, son of MNS president Raj Thackeray, was travelling in the car from Ahmednagar to Sinnar on Saturday night. While Crossing the toll naka of the Samruddhi Mahamarg at around 9.15pm, the boom at the toll plaza did not work as the Fastag had expired.
Hence, in the talks that ensued, Amit Thackeray had to wait for about 3 minutes and 11 seconds.
As reports about Amit Thackeray having to wait at the toll plaza spread among activists, one group came and ransacked the toll naka, while another made the toll plaza workers apologise.
The Wavi police are in the process of registering an FIR against the unidentified workers of MNS. The video of the activists ransacking the toll plaza and leaving the place by raising slogans of the party went viral.
