[ad_1]

Elon Musk owned social media platform X (previously Twitter) has stopped showing titles with URLs in previews since last month. The company said this change will offer “improved aesthetics” to the popular micro-blogging site. Now, Elon Muskhas shared a post on X to confirm that the platform will soon start showing news headlines again. In this post, the billionaire said that an upcoming update will be rolled out for the platform that will bring back the headlines of news articles.
Musk mentioned that “in an upcoming release, will overlay the title in the upper portion of the image of a URL card.” However, the headlines will still remain “overlaid on the image”. Due to the earlier change in October, users had to click or tap on the URL card to know the title or read the headline.
X facing issue with advertisers on the platform
The latest change comes after several major tech brands have pulled or paused advertising on X. This includes companies like IBM, Apple, Disney, Warner Bros, Discovery, Paramount and Comcast/NBCUniversal. These brands explained that this decision was taken as Musk allegedly continues to endorse far-right viewpoints and agrees with posts that promote antisemitism.

After losing X advertisers, Musk sued Left-leaning non-profit Media Matters. The billionaire accused the publiction of interfering with contract, business disparagement and interference with prospective economic advantage.
In a report last week, the publication alleged that X “has been placing ads for major brands” like Apple and IBM “next to content that touts Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Party“.
This led to major tech brands pausing their ads on X. Meanwhile, the company’s CEO said that she is committed to truth and fairness on the social media platform.
