CHANDIGARH: The National Green Tribunal has issued a notice to Punjab government officials over illegal mining in some areas of Ropar district of Punjab after getting a “vague” response from the authorities, reports Vinod Kumar.
The tribunal has issued notice to additional chief secretary/principal secretary of the mining department; additional chief secretary/principal secretary of the department of environment; member secretary of the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB); district magistrate, Hoshiarpur; district magistrate, Ropar; and chief conservator of forests.
