THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan set up a 20-member team to probe the blasts at a convention centre in Kalamassery on Sunday that killed two women and wounded 58 other members of a Christian congregation. He said “more clarity” was needed to arrive at a conclusion. The CM suggested that an admittedly disillusioned former member of the Christian denomination Jehovah’s Witnesses owning up to the blasts didn’t mean the case was closed.Union home ministerAmit Shah spoke to the CM to take stock after the blasts were initially suspected to be a terror attack.
“I will assure you of one thing. No one behind this incident will be spared,” Vijayan said. The CM said the state did not have “any agenda” and that a special team headed by the Kochi DCP would look at the case from all angles. Central agencies are also involved in the investigation, he said.
Vijayan has convened an all-party meeting Monday
Congress, meanwhile, condemned the blasts and demanded a thorough probe to unmask the conspiracy and bring the perpetrator to the book.
