BENGALURU: The Netherlands PM, Mark Rutte, cycled, sipped tea and clicked selfies with locals on the cobbled Church Street in the city on Monday, charming Bengalureans with his smile and simplicity.
Asked what had brought him to the city, Rutte said: “I came here for a big trade mission because this is the place to do business. The best companies are here.”
Though security personnel had cordoned off the busy street for some time and advised everyone to stay indoors, the visiting Prime Minister waved back at everyone standing near the windows in buildings flanking the road. The Dutch PM’s humility won many hearts.
