Starting the debate from the government side on the no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha, Nishikant Dubey focused a large part of his speech on Congress party and its leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
Targeting Rahul Gandhi, Dubey said that the Congress leader was supposed to open the debate from the INDIA side but “probably he got up late”. As per reports, Rahul Gandhi was scheduled to start the opposition’s debate on the no-confidence motion, but it was Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi who spoke first. “Why hasn’t PM Modi gone to Manipur till date? Why did he speak on the issue after 80 days? Why hasn’t PM Modi removed the CM of Manipur,” Gogoi asked in his opening speech.
Taking a dig at Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, Dubey said she was following the traditional Indian woman’s way of “Bete ko set karna hai, damaad ko bhent karna hai (Has to set her son, and gift to her son-in-law)”.
During his speech, Dubey also brought up the matter of the Supreme Court’s decision to temporarily halt Rahul Gandhi’s conviction in the ‘Modi surname’ remark case, leading to the reinstatement of his Lok Sabha membership.
“There was quite a commotion about Rahul Gandhi’s reentry into Parliament, but he hadn’t actually left… he was present during the Budget session. It’s important to note that the Supreme Court hasn’t acquitted him. Furthermore, he has expressed his refusal to apologize… He’s made the assertion that he is not (VD) Savarkar, emphasizing that he can never be compared to Savarkar,” Dubey remarked.
Dubey also slammed the opposition parties for bringing a no-confidence motion against the government, saying this is a no-trust vote against a “poor person’s son” who has worked for the welfare of the people.
“This no-confidence motion is against the son of a poor, the no-confidence motion is against the person who gave people houses, the no-confidence motion is against the person who gave drinking water to the people, the no-confidence motion is against the person who gave toilets to the people, the no-confidence motion is against the person who tried to bring light in everyone’s home,” the BJP leader said.
