‘Pakistan have…, India don’t…’: Former Pak player on Asia Cup clash | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: India hold the upper hand over Pakistan in the recent past and emerged victorious in the multi-team events barring their loss in 2021 T20 World Cup. But former Pakistan leg-spinner Danish Kaneria opines that the upcoming Asia Cup clash would be a different ball game as the Indian bowling unit looks unsettled.

“Pakistan have the edge, as India don’t look settled at the moment. They don’t know which fast bowlers are going to play. In their spin department, Yuzvendra Chahal has been inconsistent. Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja should be the three spinners, according to me. If they want a spinner on standby, Ravi Bishnoi should get the nod,” Kaneria said during a live session on his official YouTube channel.
Star batters KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are back in action, engaging in batting practice as they gear up for their much-anticipated returns following their injury recoveries.

The dynamic duo, Rahul and Iyer, were spotted honing their skills at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. Kaneria commented that both players would require a few additional matches under their belt before making their reentry into the international cricket scene.
“KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer have been practicing at the NCA and are mostly likely going to be included in India’s squad for the upcoming major tournaments. However, you cannot bring someone into the team just on the basis of practice. They will have to play matches and should be added to the team only if they show good form there,” Kaneria explained.
India will open their Asia Cup campaign against Pakistan in a Group A match at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on September 2.
