Paramount: Apple, Paramount may bundle their streaming services: What’s in for users

[ad_1]

Apple and Paramount Global are said to have been in talks to bundle their streaming services. A report has claimed that both the companies have talked about rolling out a combined Paramount+ and Apple TV+ subscription.
Citing people familiar with the discussions, the Wall Street Journal said in a report that a combined subscription will effectively cost less than subscribing to both services separately. This is likely to help the companies attract customers who are cost sensitive.
Apple TV+ subscription costs $9.99 per month and Paramount+ costs $5.99 per month, effective around $16 per month.
The report also said that the talks between Apple and Paramount are in early stages. This means that it is still unclear whether the plans to offer a combined subscription will go ahead.
Other companies’ offers
Last month, it was reported that Verizon is also planning to offer the ad-supported versions of Netflix and Warner Bros Discovery’s Max streaming services for about $10 a month combined. The separate subscription costs about $17 per month.
The development came soon after Netflix increased the prices for its premium ad-free tier in October 2023. The streaming giant launched its ad-supported tier late last year.
Meanwhile, Grocery delivery app Instacart also said last week that it had partnered with NBCUniversal’s Peacock to provide the streaming service at no extra cost for its US subscribers.
Under this subscription offer, the companies are aiming to draw in inflation-hit customers who are looking to cut down on expenses by looking for bundled services.
