Google launched the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones with various features exclusive to the newest models. The company is now adding more such features to the phones’ cameras by rolling out Pixel Camera update v.9.2 available through the Play Store.
The set of new features were announced in Google News (unofficial) Telegram channel and the team at The Times of India Tech-Gadgets Now have also received them. The most interesting feature that comes to the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro isNight Sight Time Lapse.
Night Sight in Time Lapse
With this update, the Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 8 camera will enable users to record longer videos at night with Night Sight Timelapse. Five minutes of recording in 1080p quality or 20 minutes recording in 4K quality will get users a timelapse video of 10 seconds in Night Sight mode.
The camera app already allows users to record short time lapse videos of about a second in Astrophotography mode. The update brings a separate setting in Time Lapse mode for recording Night Sight Time Lapse videos.
Other updates
The Pixel Camera (previously Google Camera) app also brings some improvements in the “Palm Timer” feature. This feature allows users to take a selfie from a distance by showing their palm to start the timer.
It was previously enabled only when a 3 or 10 second timer is on but can now be customised, with settings for “Always on” and “Only when the timer is active.” There is also now a separate switch for Ultra HDR photos in Advanced Settings. It was enabled by default in our Pixel 8 Pro device.
Google December 2023 Pixel Feature Drop
Google is also expected to roll out the December 2023 Pixel Feature Drop this month for supported Pixel devices. It could bring features like Video Boost to the Pixel 8 Pro.
