Uber launched ‘Uber Connect’ three years ago with an aim to help people send items to friends, family or colleagues. The company is now expanding the service that will save time and effort in taking care of the packages that are needed to be returned to post offices.
Called Return a Package, the new service in Uber Connect allows users to seamlessly schedule a courier to pick up up to five prepaid and sealed packages, saving them from a trip to the post office.
Here’s how it will work
Users can use the “Return a Package” feature to have a courier pick up prepaid and sealed packages and drop them off at a local post office, UPS, or FedEx.
The convenience extends beyond the pickup; customers can track their packages in real-time through the Uber app, receiving visual confirmations or photos of receipts upon drop-off. Return a Package is a flat $5 fee—or only $3 for Uber One members.

Return a Package is available in the US in the Uber and Uber Eats apps for customers in 4,950+ cities throughout the United States, including the following areas:

Citing a research from the National Retail Federation, Uber said that 79% of shoppers under 30 think mail returns are somewhat or very annoying.
“And with the busy holiday shopping and gifting season fast approaching, we know returns are inevitable – whether it’s the wrong size, the wrong colour, or the wrong gift idea entirely,” the company said.
