‘Raging Rhino’: Bowler hilariously demolishes stumps to effect run out in T10 match | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: In an unusual and hilarious turn of events, bowler Andrew Ryan threw himself at the stumps to effect a bizarre run out during a ECS Switzerland T10 match between Winterthur CC and Cossonay CC.

The incident took place in the final over of Winterthur’s chase when the batter Thuvarahan Karunakaran, who was at the striker’s end went for a wild slog off Ryan and missed the ball.
As the non-striker Chris Lodge tried to sneak in a single, Karunakaran at the striker’s end had no idea his partner was going in for the run.

As both batter eventually found themselves together on the same side of the crease, it was an easy run out chance for Ryan as the keeper threw the ball straight to him. But surprising everyone with his unique ‘Jonty Rhodes style’ finish, Ryan threw himself at the stumps with the ball in his hand to run out the batter.

Even the commentators had a big laugh over the fashion of the dismissal.
Winterthur CC went on to lose the match by 70 runs after finishing at 73 for 8 in chase of 144.
