RANCHI: A second-year postgraduate student of the state-run Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims) in Ranchi was found dead with severe burn injuries on Thursday morning.
The partially charred body of Madan Kumar, who was from Namakkal district of Tamil Nadu, was found in the backyard of hostel number 4 of the medical instituteand hospital. Kumar was pursuing MD in forensic medicine and toxicology.
Police have formed a special investigation team, headed by a DSP and comprising members from the forensic science laboratory and technical units, to probe if it was a murder or a suicide.
Kumar’s family members have been informed.
