MUMBAI: A Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable, Chetan Singh (34), part of an escort team on the Jaipur-Mumbai Superfast Express, shot and killed four men early Monday on the running train between Vaitarna and Mira Road stations.
Three of the victims – two have been identified in the FIR as Asghar Abbas Ali Shaikh and Kadarbhai Bhanpurwala – were passengers while the fourth, Tikaram Meena, an RPF assistant sub-inspector, was heading the escort team. A PTI report named the fourth victim as Sadar Hussain, but the FIR does not.
A video shows Singh standing next to the body of a victim and ranting about “Pakistan” and “media coverage” before naming three political personalities. Singh was nabbed by GRP at Mira Road when the train was brought to a stop and he disembarked.
