Rs 20 crore worth jewellery looted from shop in Delhi’s Bhogal area | Delhi News

NEW DELHI: In a major heist, ornaments worth over Rs 20 crore were stolen from a jewellery shop in Bhogal area in the national capital.
The incident came to light on Tuesday morning when the owners opened the shop. They had closed the shop on Sunday and it remained shut on Monday.
According to shop owner Sanjeev Jain, the stolen jewellery was worth around Rs 20-25 crore.
“We closed the shop on Sunday and when we opened it on Tuesday after an off on Monday, we saw that there was dust in the whole shop and there was a hole in the wall of the strong room. We think they (thieves) have looted everything. There was jewellery worth around Rs 20-25 crores,” reported news agency ANI quoting Jain.
“They (robbers) entered from the terrace. Everything is damaged, including CCTV,” Jain added.
DCP South-East Rajesh Deo said that the advanced forensic team was present at the spot. The locker where the jewellery was kept is yet to be examined.
“It is a big incident of burglary. Investigation is underway. CCTV footages have been accessed,” the DCP said.
The thieves are yet to be identfied. Police are yet to confirm the value of stolen jewellery.
