The company has been manufacturing affordable, mid-range, and premium Galaxy S series smartphones in India for a while now.
Samsung began manufacturing the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 in India in December, four months after their launch. With the upcoming models, Indian consumers can purchase locally manufactured “made in India” Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5.
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 5 improves upon the design with a new hinge mechanism and comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, among other upgrades. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 also gets a new and improved hinge, a larger cover screen with more functionality, and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which brings some camera improvements.
Samsung’s new foldable phones starts at Rs 99,999
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is available in three storage variants: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The prices for these variants are Rs. 1,54,999, Rs. 1,64,999, and Rs. 1,84,999, respectively. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 comes in two storage options: 256GB and 512GB, priced at Rs. 99,999 and Rs. 1,09,999, respectively.
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be available for pre-booking starting on July 27, and the open sales are scheduled to begin on August 18 in India.
