NEW DELHI: As a fit-again Shreyas Iyer made the cut in the 17-man squad for the upcoming Asia Cup, the talented middle-order batter on Wednesday thanked the National Cricket Academy trainers and staff members for helping him recover in time for the marquee tournament.
The BCCI selection committee on Monday announced the squad for the Asia Cup, which will start from August 30 and will be jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Shreyas, who was out of action due to a back injury since the Australia series in March, was declared fit just before the announcement of the team.
“Been a long journey but I’m super grateful to the people who stood by my side to help me to get where I am today. Thank you Nitin bhai and Rajini sir and everyone at The NCA, who’ve been tirelessly helping me. Much love and much appreciated,” Shreyas wrote on XI, formally known as Twitter.
