Apple watchOS 10 will start rolling out tonight to all the compatible Watch models. The new update brings a host of new changes and improvements including Smart Stack, easier access to Control Centre, new Mood settings, and improved health and fitness features. Here we’ve put together the complete list of watchOS 10 features that are new.
Smart Stack
watchOS 10 finally gets the widget support. The feature is placed right under the watch face and users can access them by rotating the Digital Crown. Users get the option the add, remove, or re-arrange them as per their needs. Also, these widgets are a a little smart as they curate depending on users’ habit, location and activity.
Improved controls
Now that the Digital Crown is assigned to some other task — accessing widgets — the Control Centre access has moved to the side button. Pressing the side button brings up the Control Centre with watchOS 10.
Workout
Activity tracking has also seen some improvements with the latest update. Workout Views on iPhone is a feature that brings some fitness tracking information right on the iPhone. Users can now use their iPhone to see the metrics in real-time. The feature is mainly aimed at cyclists as they can mount their phone on the handlebars and view the information on the phone without having to remove the hand from the handle.
This includes new Workout views including Heart Rate Zones, Elevation, Race Route, Custom Workouts, Cycling Speed view and more.
Improved apps
Apple has also updated the design of Watch apps including Weather, Stocks, Home, Maps, Messages, and World Clock to improve its usability and offer a better experience
Apart from that Apple Watch also supports moon logging, time spent in daylight via ambient light sensor, NameDrop support and group audio call is now a part of watchOS 17 too.
