Telegram: Telegram Stories feature launched for premium users

[ad_1]

Telegram Stories are now live for Premium subscribers. The feature was announced by the company’s CEO Pavel Durov last month and was officially rolled out to premium users in July. Stories on Telegram are similar to Stories on other platforms, such as Instagram and Snapchat. However, Telegram Stories offer some unique features, such as the ability to choose to have their stories disappear after 6, 12, 24, or 48 hours, whereas most apps make Stories disappear after 24 hours. Just like Instagram and Snapchat Stories, users have full control over who sees their content. They can choose to share their stories with everyone, select contacts (with exceptions), a specific group of contacts, or a list of close friends, ensuring privacy and customisation.

To use Stories on Telegram, users will need to update the app to the latest version. Once updated, a new “Stories” tab at the top of the chat list will appear on the screen. Tap on the “Stories” tab to see Stories from other contacts and groups.
How to upload Stories on Telegram

Those who are premium users can tap on the “+” button in the top-right corner of the “Stories” tab to create a new Story. Users can add photos and videos from their camera roll or take new photos and videos. Once finished, tap on the “Post” button to share the Story with contacts.
Telegram also features a Video Messages option, where users can record stories using both cameras. The app also supports link sharing and tagging other users in Stories.
“Posting stories is currently available only to subscribers,” a message in the app says when non-Premium users try to create a new Story. It’s uncertain whether the Stories feature will become free for everyone. Telegram users who have not paid for the premium membership will be able to view Stories created by Premium subscribers, however, they will not be able to create their own Stories.
