SRINAGAR: Three soldiers were injured during an anti-terror operation in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday.
Based on intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in Hallan Manzgam area, a joint team of the Army, CRPF and J&K Police launched a cordon-and-search operation there. As the security forces neared a suspected hideout, holed-up terrorists opened fire at the search party triggering an encounter.
In the ensuing fire exchange, three soldiers sustained bullet injuries and were hospitalised for treatment. As darkness fell, the anti-terror operation was suspended even as two-three terrorists were suspected to be hiding in the area, police said.
