NEW DELHI: United Airlines will have a double daily between Delhi and Newark (New York) — its only India route at the moment — this winter. This is the first seasonal enhancement by the airline — which has otherwise suspended several India routes like Mumbai-Newark and Delhi-Chicago/San Francisco. While Delta is yet to resume India operations after March 2020, American has a daily between Delhi and New York JFK. Air India is the biggest operator of nonstops between India and the US.

“United Airlines has announced an increase in service between Delhi and New York/Newark, with a doubling of flights from once to twice daily during the winter season 2023/24. In line with the existing year-round service, the additional flight will also be operated with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft,” United said in a statement. United’s B787-9 has 257 seats — 149 economy, 39 eco plus, 21 premium plus and 48 business suites
“Having served this important region for almost two decades, India continues to be an integral part of United’s global network and we are delighted to announce this additional daily flight from New Delhi, operated with 787 Dreamliner aircraft. This increase in service will offer our valued customers in India even greater travel choice and flexibility, with the possibility to connect seamlessly via our New York/Newark hub to over 70 destinations across the Aericas,” said Harvinder Singh, United director Middle East and India.
