Popular venture capitalist David Sacks posted on X, “Washington gave Ukraine $100+ billion last year, claiming this would push the Russians out in a successful counteroffensive. In fact, the lines hardly budged; if anything Russia gained territory. Now DC claims another $60B will get the job done. You’re a fool if you believe this.”
Musk responded to his post, saying, “Lot of fools out there.”
Shared meme on Ukrainian president
Earlier this month, Musk used his platform to make fun of Zelensky with a nine-year-old meme. “When it’s been five minutes and you haven’t asked for a billion dollars in aid,” read the text above the “Trying to Hold a Fart Next to a Cute Girl in Class” meme, which the X owner posted to his 160 million followers. The original image shows a teenage schoolboy visibly agitated while sitting in class next to a girl. Musk’s version swapped in Zelensky’s face.
Recently, the world’s richest man said that the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, and Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine, raise the potential for World War III. “We need to figure out peace in Ukraine, and I think we need to restore normal relations with Russia,” Musk said during a talk on Spaces on X. “World War III is a civilizational risk that we may not recover from. So we need to prioritize avoiding World War III, that’s what actually matters,” he said. “And not what happened in World War I and have a regional conflict rapidly become a global conflict.”
