Chinese smartphone maker Honor introduced its latest foldable smartphone, the Honor V Purse at IFA 2023. The company has now announced the device on its home turf. The Honor V Purseboasts a unique outward folding display design that measures less than 9 mm when folded. This design makes the latest foldable phone 10.1% thinner than the Honor Magic V2 smartphone.
As the name suggests, the Honor V Purse transforms the foldable phone into a fashion statement. The smartphone also features an always-on display that mimics a handbag’s look. This foldable phone also comes with chains, feathers and tassels that move with the phone. Users can also change its straps and wear it like a regular purse or handbag.
Honor V Purse: Price and availability
The Honor V Purse smartphone will be available in three different colour options — Camellia Gold, Glacier Blue, and Elegant Black colours. The smartphone will ship in two storage variants — 256GB and 512GB which will be priced at 5999 yuan (almost Rs 70,000) and 6599 yuan (almost Rs 75,000). The smartphone is already available for limited pre-sale via Honor China’s online store. The company is expected to start shipping the phone in China starting October 10.

Honor V Purse is set to sport a 7.71-inch foldable OLED panel that will support 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming technology. When folded the screen size will be reduced to 6.45-inches. The Chinese variant of the smartphone supports 1600 nits peak brightness and a wide colour DCI-P3 colour gamut.

For photography, the Honor V Purse houses a dual rear camera setup that includes a 50MP main sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. The smartphone also has an 8MP front camera inside the display notch for selfies and video calls.
The smartphone also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a dual speaker setup and runs MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13. Honor V Purse packs a 4500mAh battery unit that supports 35W fast charging.
