Vande Bharat 14 Minute Miracle: Indian Railways’ New Scheme Inspired From Japan’s Bullet Trains
The cleanliness involves disposal of garbage left over by passengers and cleaning of seats and snack tables, pantry with liquid sprays and wipes. Similarly, all bathrooms are cleaned as well. The floors are cleaned using water and cleaning cloths on wipers.
According to Indian Railways, the “14 Minute Miracle Cleaning” is about cleaning of the coaches with discipline and precision techniques. This fast-cleaning drill will cut down the turn-around time of the Vande Bharat trains, says railways.

This new initiative by Indian Railways derives inspiration from Japan’s Shinkansen method. In Japan, bullet trains are cleaned in a record 7 minutes and this phenomenon is called the 7 minute miracle.

Addressing the media Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the new scheme will ensure reduction in turnaround time for Vande Bharat Express trains. He also said that this step of efficient cleaning will gradually be taken forward on other trains as well. He added that this process that has been started with Vande Bharat Express trains will be gradually taken forward
Vande Bharat Express trains have emerged as Indian Railways’ face for new age travel and services and this new initiative is a step in that direction.
