Earlier, India got off to a blistering start after opting to bat with skipper Rohit Sharma again laying the solid platform with his 47-run knock off 29 balls.
Shubman Gill was forced to retire hurt on 79 featuring eight fours and three sixes before leaving the field with cramps.
