NEW DELHI: Team India’s injury issues of its star players seemingly put to rest with KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer knocking the doors of the national team to make a comeback ahead of the Asia Cup.

Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who is also out of the team due to the injuries he sustained in a horrific car accident in December last year, shared a video of Rahul and Iyer batting together in a match at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

Iyer can be seen punching a ball from a fast bowler to the deep cover fielder with Rahul standing at the other end.
“Loved watching live cricket after long time,” Pant captioned the video.

Rahul has been out of action after being injured during Lucknow Super Giants’ match in IPL 2023 against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 1. He clutched his right thigh and then limped from the field while chasing the ball to stop a boundary in the second over.
Iyer underwent surgery for a recurring back injury. The KKR captain had missed the IPL 2023 after picking up the injury during the Test series against Australia.
