NEW DELHI: In a stunning and heart-warming gesture, batting great Virat Kohli bowed down to legendary Sachin Tendulkar after breaking his record of most centuries in one-day international format.
As Kohli notched up a historic record-breaking 50th ODI ton against New Zealand in the World Cup semi-final in Mumbai on Wednesday, the 35-year-old celebrated with a fist pump, flying high in the air.
Following that, Kohli looked at idol Sachin in the stands, and bowed down in front of him, in a touching gesture.
As Kohli notched up a historic record-breaking 50th ODI ton against New Zealand in the World Cup semi-final in Mumbai on Wednesday, the 35-year-old celebrated with a fist pump, flying high in the air.
Following that, Kohli looked at idol Sachin in the stands, and bowed down in front of him, in a touching gesture.
Celebrating his ton, Kohli was also seen giving a flying kiss to his actress wife Anushkha Sharma in the stands.
Kohli reached the landmark when he worked Kiwis pacer Lockie Ferguson to square leg for a double, moving from 98 to 100.
The India no.3 eventually fell for 117 in the 44th over.
