Multi-asset funds have become a much talked about investment category these days. To put it simply, multi-asset funds allow you exposure to several types of assets with one instrument – equity, debt, gold, silver, REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts) etc. Watch the video above as Chethan Shenoy explains the advantages and disadvantages of opting for multi-asset funds.
Yet another category of mutual funds that allows a balanced exposure is flexi-cap funds. As the name suggests, flexi cap funds have flexibility to allocate funds between small caps, mid caps and large caps. These are pure equity funds, similar to multi-cap funds, but in case of the latter there is a fixed allocation of 25-25-25 in small, mid and large caps. Chethan compares flexi cap funds with multi cap funds, outlining the benefits of one versus the other.
