WhatsApp Channels to soon get polls feature: Here’s what it is

[ad_1]

WhatsApp introduced the Channels feature in India in June this year. WhatsApp Channels function as a unidirectional broadcasting tool, empowering administrators to dispatch text messages, photos, videos, stickers, and polls. Within the Meta-owned platform, the creator of the channel also enjoys the flexibility to modify and personalise the content related to their WhatsApp channel.
Now a new report has surfaced online suggesting that WhatsApp is working on a feature to share polls in channels.
WhatsApp keeps working on introducing new features for channels to improve interaction between channel admins and followers. As per WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on the ability to share polls in channels.
The report also mentions that these polls within channels will also incorporate the option to restrict responses to a single choice, mirroring the feature found in your chats and groups. It is very important to highlight that poll votes will always be protected for added privacy. This means that when you participate in a channel poll, your phone number always remains hidden and is not disclosed to the channel owner and other followers.
The feature to share polls in channels is under development and it will be available in a future update of the app.
WhatsApp users will soon be able to hide locked chats
Meta-owned WhatsApp is currently in the process of developing a feature aimed at discreetly concealing locked chats, which is expected to be introduced in an upcoming app update. At the moment, the access point for locked chats is visible within the chat list, potentially revealing their presence, even if they are not easily accessible. The upcoming feature will grant users the capability to hide this access point, requiring the entry of a secret code in the search bar to gain access to locked chats. This enhancement bolsters the privacy and security of users looking to protect confidential conversations.
