WhatsApp Schedule Group Calls: WhatsApp will now allow users to schedule group calls, here’s how it works

[ad_1]

WhatsApp recently rolled out the ability to share screens during video calls with its users. The Meta-owned platform has now started rolling out a new feature which will enable users to schedule calls in group chats.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is rolling out an ability to schedule calls in group chats. The feature is available for Android beta testers. In order to use the feature, Android beta testers need to install the update version 2.23.17.7.
How to schedule group calls

In order to schedule the group calls, users need to tap on the call button. Users can then select the call subject, along with the scheduled call date. In addition, it is also possible to select the type of group call, whether it’s video or voice. After scheduling a group call, an event will automatically be added to the group chat, and who decided to join the call will be notified 15 minutes before the group call starts.
The feature is presently in beta mode and is expected to soon roll out for all users.
WhatsApp gets screen sharing feature
Following an extensive beta testing period spanning nearly a couple of months, WhatsApp has, at last, introduced the Screen Share functionality to its entire global user base. True to its name, this feature enables users to share their phone and PC screens with others while engaged in a video call. Nonetheless, it’s important to note that certain content isn’t eligible for sharing, and WhatsApp has also implemented various security measures to ensure user protection.
Along with this, the company also introduced landscape mode. In contrast to portrait mode, landscape mode provides a broader and more expansive perspective of the video call interface. By enabling this feature, participants in the call can observe a greater number of individuals on the screen simultaneously, thereby enriching the overall video call experience.
