[ad_1]

WhatsApp keeps testing new features, design changes and updates for the app across all platforms to offer a better user experience. The company has recently updated the app with the support for a unique code for chat lock, the ability to set different PINs or passcodes and more.
Recently, WhatsApp started testing Usernamesfor accounts, letting users share their usernames instead of their phone numbers. The feature was in development and available to select beta testers only.
Now, WABetaInfo has reported that the company, with the latest WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.23.25.19 update, has started rolling out some new changes and developments related to the Username feature.
Based on the screenshot shared, the WhatsApp search bar will support username search, allowing users to find someone by their username. This will make things easier for users to connect without actually having to share their phone numbers.
Apart from that, this is also important to note that this is an optional process and users are free whether they want to create a username for their account or not. Also, WhatsApp provides users with the option to manage and even delete it when they want.
Availability
The update is available with WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.23.25.19 and is available on the Google Play Store for select beta testers. As far as the rollout is concerned, WhatsApp hasn’t shared the rollout details for this feature as of now. But, we expect it to arrive with the next release in the future.
