WhatsApp has reportedly started rolling out a new shortcut to access AI-powered chats. As reported by WABetaInfo, the instant messaging app is introducing a functionality that includes a shortcut for accessing AI-powered conversations directly from the Chats tab. The feature is presently available for the iOS beta testers. Users need to install the update version 23.23.10 to access the feature.
This September, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, introduced a new feature that allows a specific set of users to engage with AI-powered conversations. These chats are designed to assist users in their daily activities by providing advice and suggestions.
As per the report, users will now see a new button with the navigation bar in the Chats tab which will enable the users to quickly open the AI-powered chat. It’s important to emphasise that currently, AI-powered chats are limited to a particular user group, and the exact date for a wider release is still undetermined.
“With the introduction of a dedicated shortcut, users can now directly access AI-powered chats from the Chats Tab without navigating through the chat list to find the previous interaction with the AI. This approach significantly reduces the time and effort required to initiate these specialised conversations,” mentions the report.
Channel update views
In a recent update, WhatsApp has initiated the beta release of an Android update incorporating a feature that allows users to see the number of views for a specific channel update directly within the message bubble. The purpose of this feature is to assist channel owners in evaluating the reach of their updates by providing insights into viewership. Importantly, this functionality is not restricted to channel owners; followers also have the ability to track the number of views for each channel update.
WABetaInfo noted, “This feature has the potential to enhance the user experience, offer valuable insights, and be advantageous for both individual users and organisations utilising WhatsApp Channels for broadcasting. Users gain the ability to assess the impact and reach of their messages, allowing them to identify which content resonates most with their audience.”
