Gangster-turned-terrorist Sukhdool Singh alias Sukha Duneke – a close associate of the slain terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar – was allegedly shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Canada Wednesday, amidst a tense stand-off between the two countries. Reports suggest that Duneke, who was from Moga in Punjab, was shot at least nine times from point blank range by his rivals in Winnipeg city.
Duneke was on the National Investigation Agency’s most wanted list, last released on Wednesday, after he fled to Canada on a fake passport in 2017. He was among the members of the Canada-linked terror-gangster network.
Bishnoi says shooters confronted Sukha about his friends’ murders
Sukhdool Singh alias Sukha Duneke, who was gunned down in Winnipeg Wednesday, was a key member of the ‘Bambiha Gang’ in Punjab but later joined hands with designated terrorist Arsh Dalla to work with Nijjar, the chief of KTF. The duo soared high on the notoriety chart last year when they hired two criminals to kill a Hindu man in Delhi.
In a statement, Canadian Police said, “On September 20, at approximately 10am, the Winnipeg Police Service responded to an incident in the North Inkster Industrial area. North district general patrol officers, assisted by the tactical support team, attended a residence in Hazelton Drive, where they located a deceased adult male victim. The victim was transported to hospital, where an autopsy is pending. No arrests have been made.”
Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who owned up to Sukha’s killing, claimed before the killing that his shooters confronted him regarding murders of Gurlal Brar (the brother of gangster Goldy Brar), Akali Dal leader Vicky Middukhera, friends of Bishnoi since their days in Panjab University, and Kabaddi player Sandeep Nangal, a childhood friend, and then pumped bullets into his head. Duneke’s mother and sister are said to be in Canada and his uncle lives in their hometown in Moga, Punjab.
An intelligence dossier on Duneke lists Armenia-based gangster Lucky Patial and Malaysia-based gangster Jackpal Singh as his close aides. “The gangster was managing the activities of the gang from foreign soil and was also involved in running an extortion racket, targeted killings of rival gang members in Punjab and neighbouring areas through his local contacts and managing the network of his foreign-based associates. The accused is involved in at least 18 cases including those for murder, attempt to murder, extortion and robbery,” the dossier reads. “The accused was working with Arsh Dalla to resurrect Khalistan Movement after the death of another terrorist Hardeep Nijjar,” it adds.
