[ad_1]

Various political leaders including the chief ministers of states have lost their Golden and Blue ticks on ‘X‘, formerly known as Twitter. All these leaders changed their display picture to Tricolour as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga campaign’ of the government.

The leaders who lost their golden tick on ‘X’ include Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, CM of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, Goa CM Dr Pramod Sawant, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami and Sambit Patra, BJP national spokesperson. Along with this, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also lost its golden tick on the social media platform after charging its display picture to the tricolour.

Why Twitter removed the Blue and Golden ticks
The social media platform has a policy which requires verified accounts to utilise authentic names and profile pictures. Following the platform’s revised criteria, the administrators of ‘X’ will undertake a comprehensive review of these profiles. If these accounts adhere to all the specified guidelines, their verified status will be reinstated.
As a participant in the campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also modified his profile picture to feature the Indian tricolour. Nevertheless, the social media platform did not remove the grey verification tick from his account.
What is Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign
Launched in honour of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative aims to motivate individuals to bring the national flag to their homes and exhibit it as a tribute to India’s 75th Independence Day. As per the directives of the Indian Government, the primary objective of this campaign is to establish a deep personal connection with the flag, symbolising unity within the nation. The Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan seeks to cultivate a spirit of patriotism and enhance public consciousness regarding the significance of the national flag.
Encouraging active participation in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ movement, Modi has called upon individuals to replace their social media profile pictures with the tricolour. In a display of solidarity, Modi himself updated his own profile picture across his social media accounts to feature the national flag.
