Yaripora grenade attack: Terror module busted in J&K’s Kulgam, four arrested | India News

SRINAGAR: A joint team of the Army and J&K Police has busted a grenade-thrower module and arrested four terrorist associates/conspirators in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, thereby solving the Yaripora grenade attack case in which several civilians had been injured last year, police said on Friday.

On May 24, 2022, a grenade was hurled at a police party at Yaripora main chowk, which missed the intended target and exploded in the nearby crowd instead, injuring 13 civilians, police said in a statement. A case in this connection was registered at Yaripora police station and an investigation was subsequently launched.
During the probe, a joint team of Kulgam Police and Army’s 1RR arrested four terrorist associates/conspirators for their alleged involvement in the terror crime case. The accused were identified as Nasir Nabi Dar and Mohammad Abbas Dar, both residents of Gundchahal Frisal; Aaqib Majid Ganie from Badroo, Yaripora; and Zahid Ali Bhat from Kokergund, Yaripora.

Arms and ammunition including one pistol, two pistol magazines, 14 pistol rounds, and a hand grenade were seized from their possession along with other incriminating materials. Further probe was underway, the statement added.
